Dear Friends, Partners, and Educators,
We’re thrilled to share exciting news about the future of our organization: this June, The Teacher Collaborative (TTC) will officially join Power of Place Learning Communities.
This marks a major milestone for Power of Place, and our flagship Essex County Learning Community. By welcoming TTC into our family we’re expanding our reach, strengthening our collective expertise, and amplifying our shared mission to create school systems where every educator feels seen, supported, and inspired—so that every student and adult can thrive.
Since its founding, TTC has built a powerful reputation for elevating teacher voice, fostering deep connection, and cultivating a vibrant professional community across Massachusetts. Earlier this year they began a thoughtful search for a like-minded partner to carry its mission forward. When we connected, we immediately recognized our deep philosophical alignment, and took action to build a meaningful partnership.
Our two organizations share core values and a commitment to transformative, educator-driven practice. We are both anchored in equity, honor the teaching profession, and believe deeply in the capacity of educators to lead and succeed in classrooms, schools, districts, and beyond. Most importantly, both organizations see reflection, connection, and deep learning as essential to helping educators strengthen their skills, shift their mindsets, and grow their professional identities.
For Power of Place, this is an important moment of growth. Through the generous and continued support of the Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation, we have built an organization rooted in revitalizing the profession through a non-evaluative “third space” for professional learning grounded in relevance, belonging, and purpose. By weaving in TTC’s legacy, programs, and expansive network with our own, we’re not just growing—we’re evolving. Together, we will reach more educators, offer deeper learning experiences, and carry forward a unified vision rooted in shared values and lived practice.
Change takes time and care, and there are still details to sort through. But we’re happy to share that core TTC programming will continue in the new year. We will soon open applications for the next cohort of the Teacher Action Research Fellowship, and this fall we will launch the next Leadership Co-Lab. In the coming weeks, we will share more details on what this transition means, how you can stay involved, and how you can help shape what comes next.
In the meantime, we hope you will join us at our annual Showcase of Learning on May 21 at the Peabody Essex Museum (click here to register). This joyful celebration of what educators have created and experienced this year is the perfect opportunity to learn more and connect with the newly expanded PoP team.
Thank you for being part of this journey. We are excited to continue to walk alongside you all as we move forward together.
With deep gratitude and excitement,
Jane Feinberg, Ph.D.
