Heidi Guarino

Senior Advisor for Strategy, Outreach, and Growth

Heidi is the founder of EdLab Strategies, and is an experienced journalist, education policymaker, strategy consultant, communicator and storyteller. She works as a coach, strategist, writer and facilitator to help educators and policy makers make bold decisions, tell their stories, and build and strengthen their practice, while ensuring the right stakeholders are heard and engaged along the way. 

Her work is deeply informed by research, best practice, and experience viewing the impacts of education from all angles: as an independent education consultant, and previously as a senior policy consultant at Education First, as a state-level policymaker and communicator at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and as a local, regional and statewide education reporter at the Associated Press. Her work is also deeply influenced by her role as a mother of two college-aged boys. 

​​Heidi has experience in a wide array of issues, ranging from instructional strategies to educator leadership, from social and emotional learning to  high quality instructional materials and aligned professional development. She has worked with educators and policy makers at all levels, including state, school and district leaders, classroom teachers, policymakers, non-profit organizations, advocates, parents, and funders.

Originally from Rhode Island, Heidi graduated from Emerson College in Boston. She lives with her family in Salem, Massachusetts.
