Experiential Learning for Equity

Experiential learning, the chance to create, tinker, and build, is how the human brain is hardwired to learn.  In this session teachers will be given tools to integrate arts standards with ELA, Math, Science and History topics. Bringing content learning into an experiential format will give more students, particularly underserved students, the opportunity to succeed.

This American Sign Language/ESL workshop will focus on the importance of visual learning to benefit Special Education, English Learners/Multi-Language Learners, and Deaf/Hard of Hearing [HOH] students. Educators will learn strategies and techniques to easily incorporate visual learning into their current classroom routines and how it can  benefit students who often struggle with engagement and comprehension.
