Spring GatheringShowcase of Learning
As the daffodils in backyards begin to sprout and the warm weather returns, I am reminded that spring is just around the corner. It’s time to celebrate growth and renewal, to look back at what we’ve accomplished, and begin to look ahead to what we do next.
Our Spring Gathering is designed to do just that. On Wednesday, May 8 we will be hosting our annual ECLC Showcase of Learning at the world-class Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) in Salem. The museum’s gorgeous Atrium will be the setting for what promises to be an extraordinary, celebratory, inspiring event: think cocktail party meets science fair.
The purpose of the showcase is to celebrate all of you and what you have learned. If you have attended any of our ECLC experiences this year or in past years, we want you to share what you’ve learned - and how you’re using it - at our Showcase. There are a few different ways you can participate:
- Sign up to share. All presenters will have a table to set up a display and demonstrate a lesson or protocol, present a slide deck, or share visual images that illustrate what you’ve learned. We will have a coach available to help our presenters prepare.
- Sign up to speak. We want to hear the voices of our educators, and invite all who are interested to sign up to share their story of why they teach, why they lead, and why they keep learning.
- Sign up to perform. We know that the talent runs deep in this community, and In a space as beautiful as the PEM we should be surrounded by music. We are seeking both student and adult performers to provide background music and possibly a few Main Stage performances. Student or adult acapella groups, jazz ensembles, step dancers –please make yourself known to us!
- Sign up to learn, network, and celebrate with our community. Don’t want to present, speak or perform? No worries - we still want you to join us! This event is not only a celebration of individual achievements but also an opportunity for each of you to interact with, learn from, and celebrate alongside your peers from Essex County. By coming together to celebrate our diverse talents and contributions, we can inspire one another to continue growing and learning together.
Please join us on May 8 from 4:30-7:30 pm for a memorable evening of celebration, inspiration and community connection. We will be joined by Massachusetts Secretary of Education Pat Tutwiler, PEM Executive Director and CEO Lynda Roscoe Hartigan, and Tower Foundation Executive Director Tracy Sawicki, all of whom will offer welcoming remarks.
You can register here and indicate how you would like to participate in our Showcase. You can also reach out to Allyson Corey at info@powerofplacelc.org. I can’t wait to see you.
