Dear Friends,
I have been blessed in my life to encounter many educators who have influenced me in ways that have been profound and life-changing. The ones I cherish most took the time to build our relationship. They embraced me as a whole person with heart and soul and partnered with me on an intellectual journey of discovery. They helped me believe that I mattered and there was a place in the world where I belonged.
Power of Place Learning Communities® seeks to help learners – especially those whose backgrounds and life experiences are often demeaned or misunderstood – find their place and feel a sense of belonging. We do this by creating safe, welcoming, non-judgmental spaces for educators to be seen and appreciated as professionals, to connect with and learn from their peers, and to build the mindsets and practices needed to create cultures of belonging in schools.
Research tells us that when educators are engaged in their own learning, students benefit. But episodic, overly technical, and uninspired professional development won’t get us there. We create best-in-class learning experiences for educators that leave them energized and inspired, so our educators can do the same for their students.
I hope you will consider contributing to Power of Place as we continue to create networks of adult learners who are eager and willing to continue to learn, grow, and adapt to meet the needs of their students. Please get in touch by emailing [email protected].
With appreciation,
Jane Feinberg
